Sparkling wine comes to the Royal Pavilion

Brighton is getting a taste of English sparkling wine this summer, as West Sussex vineyard Roebuck Estates opens an exciting pop-up bar in one of the city's most iconic locations.

Launching on Saturday, the pop-up will take over The Royal Pavilion Rooms for July and August, offering visitors the chance to discover premium English sparkling wine without making the journey to the vineyard in Petworth.

Located next to the Royal Pavilion and accessible via the pavilion's gift shop, the bar features a lovely terrace with views of the landmark venue itself – a setting that promises to be as special as the wines on offer.

What's on offer

Guests will be able to explore Roebuck's Classic Collection by the glass and bottle, including selected magnum vintages. For those keen to try a range, the bar will offer curated wine flights featuring three different sparkling wines, perfect for discovering new favourites.

The pop-up will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 9pm, with later closing times at weekends, making it accessible for both long lunches and evening celebrations.

A celebration of local food and drink

Roebuck is keen to celebrate Brighton and Hove's renowned food and drink scene, with evening events planned in partnership with local restaurants and food producers throughout the summer. Further event details will be announced as the season progresses.

Michael Kennedy, CEO of Roebuck Estates, said: "English sparkling wine has never been more exciting, and we want more people to experience it – not just those who can make the journey to the vineyard. Brighton and Hove is one of the most vibrant food and drink destinations in the country, and bringing the story and quality of Roebuck to The Royal Pavilion Rooms this summer feels like a very natural next step."

Growing ambition in English sparkling wine

This pop-up is believed to be the first long-standing, dedicated English sparkling wine bar created by an English sparkling wine producer, reflecting the growing confidence and ambition of the industry as its finest producers take their wines to new audiences and occasions.

Roebuck Estates is the official sparkling wine partner of Brighton & Hove Museums and has established other regional partnerships, including with Sussex Cricket. The pop-up offers a city-based alternative to the vineyard experience, where visitors typically enjoy tastings overlooking the South Downs.

Whether you're a dedicated wine enthusiast or simply curious about English sparkling wine, the pop-up promises to be a welcoming destination right in the heart of Brighton.
