Hundreds of dogs make a splash at Saltdean Lido for Dogtember

Paws-itively paw-some fun at the seaside

Saltdean Lido is making waves this summer as Dogtember 2026 continues to delight canine companions and their devoted owners. The outdoor pool has become the perfect venue for dogs to enjoy a refreshing swim while their humans cheer them on from the poolside.

The event, which has proven hugely popular with the local community, gives pups of all shapes and sizes the chance to dive in and enjoy the water together. It's a wonderful opportunity for dog lovers to socialise whilst their four-legged friends make the most of the season.

Star-studded support

The event has attracted notable attention, with some well-known faces joining in the festivities. EastEnders stars Heather Peace, who plays Eve Unwin, and Jesse Wallace, who portrays Cat Slater, have brought their own beloved pooches along to experience the fun firsthand.

Jules Shepherd, founder of Wag-Fest and a trustee of Saltdean Lido, expressed her enthusiasm for how the event has unfolded. "So far, Dogtember 2026 has been 'paws-itively paw-some'," she said. "We've welcomed so many of our cute, furry friends, their humans and friends – and some well-known celebrities as well. The atmosphere has been fantastic."

Don't miss out

If you've been thinking about bringing your canine companion along, there's still time to join in the fun. Two more weekends of swimming remain, with final sessions scheduled for September 26 and 27, and October 3 and 4.

The event is sponsored by UK-based pet insurance provider Petgevity, ensuring that participating pups are well-supported throughout their swimming adventures. Tickets are still available for those looking to make a splash with their furry friends.

Ms Shepherd encouraged anyone considering attending not to miss out: "Don't make a 'faux-paw', tickets are still available."
