London's Beloved Burger & Beyond Opens First Brighton Location in the Lanes
Award-winning burger chain Burger & Beyond is bringing its cult London reputation to Brighton with a summer opening on Ship Street.
Brighton Gets a Taste of London's Burger Scene
Exciting news for food lovers across Brighton and Hove: a London cult favourite is heading our way. Burger & Beyond, the award-winning burger and steakhouse that has built a devoted following in the capital, will open its doors on Ship Street in The Lanes on 7th July.
This marks the brand's first venture outside London, and founders Tom Stock and Craig Povoas — who both have personal connections to Brighton and Sussex — will be on hand for a special preview night on 6th July to meet guests and showcase their menu.
From Street Food to Award-Winning Restaurant
Burger & Beyond's journey began as a street food concept before establishing its first permanent home in Shoreditch in 2018. Since then, the brand has expanded to locations in Soho and Borough Yards, earning a string of accolades along the way and cementing its reputation as one of London's most talked-about burger operations.
The new Brighton restaurant will occupy the space previously used by Patty & Bun, bringing fresh energy to this prime location in The Lanes.
What's on the Menu?
Brighton diners can expect the same high-quality offerings that have made Burger & Beyond famous. The menu features the Bacon Butter Burger, made with crisp pancetta and burnt butter mayo, alongside the Hot Honey burger with fried chicken and buttermilk ranch.
Beyond burgers, guests will find rare-breed beef steaks sourced from Basque supplier Txuleta — a favourite among top restaurants for its quality grass-fed beef. The restaurant will also serve Americana-style sides and house cocktails, offering something truly special for a night out in the city.
A Bright Spot for Brighton's Food Scene
The opening of Burger & Beyond comes as welcome news for Brighton's dining landscape. The premium burger sector has faced challenging times recently, with several notable operators closing or scaling back their operations. Patty & Bun, which previously occupied this Ship Street unit, shut most of its standalone restaurants in March, including its Brighton branch.
However, the arrival of an established London success story with strong credentials and personal connections to our community suggests renewed confidence in what Brighton's food scene can offer. Tom Stock and Craig Povoas's decision to choose The Lanes for their first expansion beyond London is a real vote of confidence in our city.
Whether you're a burger enthusiast, a steak lover, or simply keen to discover what all the London fuss is about, Burger & Beyond's arrival this summer gives us all something tasty to look forward to.
